SLSGB is currently providing a CPD Self-Declaration process to update Beach Lifeguard Awards that have expired or are about to expire.   We will recognise Beach Lifeguard Awards from ALL training organisations to get Beach Lifeguards ready to be back on the beach to support the RNLI & Local Authorities.

If your award has expired or will expire within 3 months of the request to renew, we will accept this. Renewal of the award will be from either the date of acceptance of your application or, in the case of pre-expiry applications, the expiry date of your existing award.

If you are already a member of SLSGB and hold a SLSGB Lifeguard award you will just need to complete and return the CPD Self-Declaration Form here

If you hold an award with another training organisation please follow the steps below:-

  1. To start the process, you will need to become a member of SLSGB which you can apply for here.
  2. Once your membership is confirmed, the next step is to complete the Lifeguard RPL form that can be downloaded here.

We must also see a copy of your most recent Beach Lifeguard Award certificate

  1. When you have received notification that your RPL has been accepted you will need to complete the CPD Self-Declaration update form which can be downloaded here.
  2. All those renewing their awards will be required as part of the process to undertake a simple online COVID-19 safety module – There is no extra cost for this. (details to follow)

If your award cannot be renewed using the process set out above and you still wish to gain a new award, we will endeavour to work out a solution that might be a simple online competency process recognising your prior learning and a swim test.
