We are calling for more volunteers to be deployed as soon as possible to be part of a safety advisory service to beach users to stop people needing to be rescued. Our Beach Warden programme has been a huge success. Over the Bank holiday weekends over 2,000 safety advisory interventions saved lives.
The Beach Warden is an at a “safe distance” volunteer activity following COVID-19 guidance to observe the beach, beach surrounds and close inshore ocean area to provide relevant safety advice to beach users and to be able to call in outside rescue/CPR help when needed.
Applications are invited from those who hold or have held a Lifesaver Award in recent years.
This activity is NOT to undertake a rescue.
You just need to know about surveillance, the dangers on your beach and how to communicate effectively.
THIS IS AN IMMEDIATE AND URGENT REQUIREMENT – YOU WILL SAVE LIVES!
ONLINE TRAINING COURSES WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE EVENINGS OF FRIDAY 16th and MONDAY 19th OCTOBER
