Call for Team Manager– Sanyo Bussan International Lifesaving Cup 2018

SLSGB has been invited to compete at the prestigious Sanyo Bussan International Lifesaving Cup 2018. Following strong athlete expression of interest, we are now seeking interest for a qualified, experienced person to fulfil the team management function.

The dates are:

Weds 20 June – Depart London, UK

Thurs 21 – Arrive Fukuoka, Japan

Fri 22 – Training day & Opening Ceremony

Sat 23 & Sun 24 – Two-day test

Mon 25 – International exchange programme

Tues 26 – City visit – Tokyo or Seoul

Weds 27 – Depart Japan, return UK same day

Management will be required to;

Manage the team, Plan travel and logistics, Co-ordinate & submit competition entry, Research & arrange accommodation and continue our good working relationship with the event organisers to ensure the success of the event.

Be responsible and accountable for the budget and ensure it remains in balance

Support the team at the competition, deal with appeals, schedules, observe competition values & respect the cultural partnership, manage kit and submit agreed team athlete events.

Management will have overall responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of the team, whilst travelling and at the competition.

The proposed team has been selected by the SLSGB Sport Committee and athletes will be informed alongside the successful management.

Expressions of interest are sought from people who have:

  1. international or national team management experience
  2. hold recognised SLSGB qualifications and have undergone (or are prepared to obtain) safeguarding training.

Interested is welcomed by sending a CV detailing experience and qualification, along with a covering letter to by 21st February 2018.

Declarations will be reviewed by the Sports Committee and interviews if needed (via phone, skype or in person) will be held the week of the 19th.

SLSGB reserves the right to withdraw from Sanyo Cup should there be insufficient interest or the standard of interest be deemed insufficient for international competition.
