Newcomers Torbay celebrate £50,000 Sport England grant

Torbay SLSC has been awarded £50,000 from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities fund to modernise a tired ice cream kiosk at North Sands Beach, Goodrington to provide a home for the club.

This is a huge achievement for a club that is only eight months old. In this short time, Torbay SLSC has already trained 10 beach lifeguards and 200 Junior Lifeguards and members will start patrolling the beach on Sunday 29th July.

Chairman Brendon Prince said: "we are absolutely delighted to have received this funding which will transform our facilities for our members".
