 SLSGB medical advisor trains doctors in Kenya

SLSGB medical advisor for sport, Lucy Obolensky, doesn’t sit still for long! Lucy is currently working in Mombasa, Kenya with ‘Exploring Global Health Opportunities’ (EGHO), a UK based charity that helps facilitate training of Kenyan health workers. Lucy is working on the Kenya Orthopaedic Project at Coast General Hospital, Mombasa.

Working with a team of anaesthetists, surgeons, nurses, physios, radiographers, F1 administrator and medical students, Lucy and EGHO are helping to improve the state of medical care in Kenya.

Lucy and her colleagues have run courses including the ‘GRASP’ course (for nurses and doctors to recognise sick patients and manage trauma patients) and trained more than 100 doctors and nurses in just one week at three different locations.
