The Golden Flag

August 25, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

  • « Nipper Surf Championships
  • Open Surf Championships »

This is the 2nd Surf Life Saving GB Golden Flag competition.

An invitation only event that showcases the best of the best Surf Life Savers in the UK racing for the final Golden Flag!

This eliminator style event invites 12 of the top male and top female athletes to compete over 5 disciplines, starting with Beach Sprints, then Board, Swim, Ski (order picked on the day) and culminating with flags to decide winners.

£1000 of cash prizes generously sponsored by Pavey Group – Insurance and Financial Advice – will be split between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd athletes.

Entrance is by invite only and athletes are invited based on results from this and previous seasons National Championships.

The 2016 winners Charlie Haynes and Anya Piotrowicz will return to defend their title in 2017.

Both Charlie and Anya, alongside several other athletes, will be racing for Great Britain in the European Championships in September.

Come down to Portreath Beach, Friday 25 August and watch our toughest athletes go round for round in this exciting and athletically challenging event. If there’s a big swell we can promise it’ll be highly entertaining to watch!
