Surf Life Saving Great Britain send representative teams to a number of international events all over the world. The modern World Championships were first hosted by us in Cardiff and Newquay and our teams have a long history of success pre-dating this. Along with the World Championships we are also represented at European Championships at both senior and youth levels. We are proud to boast a long tradition of European and World Champions in both the pool, on the beach and in the ocean.

The GB team also travels to other championships such as the International Surf Challenge and the German Cup and we are committed to a high performance programme to develop our athletes further in the strive for Gold. Selection for the GB team is based on many factors and results, and the make-up of the team can vary significantly depending on the requirements of the international competition. We run a Grand Prix series prior to the international calendar and the results of these contribute towards squad and team selection along with previous national and international championships.
