The Graduate LIfeguard Programme aims to prepare the candidate for the SLSGB NVBLQ or Surf Lifeguard award which can be assessed on or after the candidates 16th birthday. The full award content encourages the Graduates to learn, practice and develop over an extended period of time to ensure that Lifesaving skills are fully embedded before final Lifeguard assessments are undertaken. The award also aims to help prevent drowning through peer to peer education and training within the Graduates community. The Graduate Lifeguard Programme will help to develop and prepare the candidate for patrolling as part of the SLSGB National Patrol Framework and club search and rescue capability.
