There is something for everyone!

SLSGB surf life savers can begin training and gaining awards from the age of 7, when we take on the Nipper section and train children in beach safety. By the time our members reach the age of 16, they will have covered and taken a range of awards leading up to the SLSGB Beach Life Guard Award. The SLSGB Beach Lifeguard Award is the top lifeguard award nationally, recognised internationally for beach lifeguards and is the preferred beach lifeguard qualification taken by RNLI Beach Lifeguards.

There are many different types of qualifications to take for people of all ages and abilities. For us, the opportunity for people to gain a qualification and making them a surf life saver is vital to our community and beaches.

Our qualifications cover a range of disciplines, for example

Basic competency awards
Emergency First Aid
Beach Lifeguard Support
Professional Beach Lifeguard
Inshore Rescue Boat crew and driver
Commercial awards such as Surf Coach and Coasteering

Syllabus:
