SLSGB Chairman, Pete Lawrence, commented
We know that our team is competitive and following the excellent result of the GBR Youth Team in Ireland, want to ensure that the GBR Team now on their way to Australia are as well supported as possible.  Nigel’s experience in and around the competition environment will allow both the Athletes and Team Management to focus on winning medals and performing at the highest possible levels”

Team Manager GBR Lifesaving, Sara Garner, said
“On behalf of the whole team including our coaches and sports therapists, I’m really pleased to have such great support from our governing body, SLSGB, to ensure that the team is as prepared on the ground in Australia as we have been in the months leading up to our Worlds campaign. Nigel is a great asset to the team, and I’m pleased to say that we have also secured additional support from specialists based in Australia too, reducing the financial impact on the team. We hope that all our friends, families and colleagues in the UK and around the world will follow Team GBR progress on our social media channels. We aim to do you all proud”

We wish all the Team safe travel and good fortune in Australia and thank all the volunteers involved in the Team, including coaches who have helped in preparation and those behind the Team at all stages of their development
